Borges – Quinta da Soalheira Branco 2019, from Douro

A white wine produced by Borges Wines, in the Douro wine region of Portugal.

Founded in 1884 the Borges Wines became one of the main national winemaking companies in a short time. Borges has always been committed to quality in its production, as demonstrated by their presence in almost 50 countries throughout the 5 continents where the name Borges is considered a guarantee of quality.

The wine was made from the Viosinho, Ragibato, Códega and Gouveio Portuguese grape varieties.

It presents a very attractive pale straw color with golden reflexes.

On the nose, intense, fresh notes of tropical and green fruits, mango, maracuja and pear, evolving to a little citric character. Besides the fruits, also the scents of white jasmine show up.

Very full, round and soft on the palate. Light notes of honey appear at first taste, but the pleasant refreshing acidity comes soon. A fresh wine full of fruit, where good acidity and aromas provide balance and persistence.

The wine reveals a beautiful acid balance, in a very attractive, elegant and seductive structure. A creamy and full-bodied wine with a light bitter aftertaste.

Winemaking: after 12 hours of skin maceration, the grapes were pressed. Cold static decantation follows, after which the must is separated from the lees. Fermentation starts at a controlled temperature between 14-16 ºC. After the end of alcoholic fermentation, the wine ages on the fine lees for 6 months.

13,5% of alcohol content.

Consume at 8-10 °C.

Excellent pairing with white meats, light pasta dishes, risotto and fishes, especially the codfish. But goes well also with appetizers and snacks.

This is a quality, beautiful and delicate dry white wine from the Douro wine region.

Unmissable!

Cheers!
