Vdg Regional Red, from Alentejo

Do you recognize this charming man on the wine label? 🙂

Well, he is Vasco da Gama, 1st Count of Vidigueira, a Portuguese explorer and nobleman who was the first European to reach India by sea, in the 15th century.

Inspired by Vasco da Gama’s trip to India, this Vdg is a regional red wine produced by Adega Cooperativa de Vidigueira in Portugal’s Alentejo wine region.

This multi-awarded wine is a blend of Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional and Aragonez grape varieties.

It is a garnet color and has an intense aroma of orange blossom, ripe fruit, and spices.

On the palate, it is easy, smooth, and elegant, with balanced acidity. It is a young wine full of history and wisdom.

This VDG pairs well with codfish, pasta with tomato sauce and strong cheese.

Embark on a journey with Vasco da Gama and discover the best that Alentejo has to offer.
