Clarete ’18 by Morgado do Quintão, Algarve

Clarete ’18 is a beautiful dry red wine made from the local grape variety called Negra Mole, from a family-owned, organic vineyard Morgado do Quintão, situated in a warm area Algarve, the southern region of Portugal.

This is a medium-bodied wine with a pale purple color and fruity aromas on the nose which mixes fresh red currants with plum, minerality, and some cherry all over.

On the palate, it is delicate with a hint of spicy, finishing with crunchy acidity to refresh the palate.

Harvesting manually, in 20 kg boxes, crushed by foot, pre-fermentative maceration for 5 days. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in vats for 6 months.

The alcohol level is 13%.

Pair it with white meat, easy pasta or regional dishes, grilled fish, salmon or sardines.

The “Clarete 18” won a silver prize in the contest of the best wines of Algarve, in 2019.

Great wine with a long finish. Just sit down with a glass and enjoy it!
