Al-Ria Sauvignon Blanc 2019, from Algarve

The wine was produced by the Casa Santos Lima winery, in Algarve, the southern wine region of Portugal.

In Algarve, the viticulture – dating back to the presence of the Romans – has been an important activity in the region over the centuries. The region’s mild climate and proximity to the sea provide excellent conditions for the production of quality grapes.

This medium-yellow colored wine was made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape.

On the nose, the wine presents great aromas of fresh green, white and some tropical fruits, green apple, mango, white peach, honeydew and passion fruit.  On the palate, light-bodied and intensely fruity wine with balanced freshness and pronounced acidity.

A dry wine with a hint of sweetness of fruits, and a persistent, nice aftertaste.

Vinification: made from the best selection of Sauvignon Blanc grapes, which were pressed after total destemming and the fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks with temperature control at 10-12 ºC. The wine aged in a vat for 4 months in contact with the lees.

The wine has 13% alcohol content.

A very gastronomic white wine after a hot summer meal.

Pairing well with light meats, salty cheeses and Asian food.
