The Tecedeiras brand of the Lima & Smith company was born in 2013, in the Douro wine region of Portugal, where tradition meets modernity.
The winery has been a pioneer in the development and promotion of non-fortified wines in this region for 20 years. Their wines are the result of precise, yet low-intervention winemaking, resulting in complex, intense, and long-lived wines, with the unique characteristics of Douro.
This ‘Lilás’ is a blend of the most traditional vines of the Douro that grow in its coolest sub-region, the Cima Corgo. This region with its steep slate terraces results in the most structured and high-quality wines of the growing area. This red wine was fermented in stainless steel vats and aged partially in oak barrels.
The drink has a vivid ruby color with good intensity.
Young but intense blackberry aromas, with rich black fruit such as plum and black cherry, and a little sweet spice.
On the palate, cool tannins and rich black fruits mark that the wine has youth and also fine potential. A smooth attack of balanced acidity reveals the wine’s fruity side. A structured wine with flavors of wild berries, and a cool minerality from the steep slate terraces.
‘Lilás’ brings all the flavor and warmth of the Douro Valley but is silky smooth and easy on the palate.
It goes well with roasted meats or barbecue, as well as cheeses and cuisine associated with a more relaxed life, such as pasta, pizza, salads, and the like.
