La Rosa White 2019, from Douro DOC

This is the ideal summer aperitif!

La Rosa 2019 is a rich white wine from Douro wine region in Portugal. Produced by Quinta da La Rosa.

The history of Quinta de la Rosa started in 1815. The winery is a pioneer in the Douro region, famous for its top-of-the-range wines and ports. And in 1988 starts to enter the market with the production of the first Port Wine of the house.

Quinta de la Rosa has about 62 hectares of vineyards, which line the north bank of the river Douro and produce enriched wines with remarkable levels of acidity, minerality and freshness. It is one of the few estates in the Douro to have vineyards at a range of altitudes, up to 450 meters above sea level. This allows them to produce this refreshing dry white wine, as well as classic Ports.

This wine was produced from Viosinho (45%) grape, and the rest is a blend of the Rabigato, Gouveio, and Côdega de Larinho varieties.

Picked by hand in the vintage of 2019. The La Rosa style is to make well-defined wines without too much extraction and oak, with good freshness and minerality.

The wine presents a pale gold color.

Fresh, clean, direct, mineral aromas with light tropical banana on the nose together with citric undertones, white fruit and herbal notes. Beautiful aromas of vanilla, a touch of tropical fruit, pear, kiwi, apple, melon, white blossom, white peach, and wet stone.

On the palate, is a blend of four typical white Douro grapes.

This wine is cool with fine apple acidity and a bright texture. Very rich, captivating with a good mouth feel, and full of flavor. A very elegant wine with the same flavors apparent on the nose.

A balanced wine, with a delicate complex finish and smooth, refreshing acidity. There is a hint of yellow fruits to add richness to the aftertaste.

The lively acidity keeps the wine fresh.

It is a wine full of flavors, fresh and young, ideal for hot summer days.

Alcohol: 13%.

Serve this wine at a temperature of 10-12 °C.

An ideal wine to accompany summer meals such as fish, salads and pasta or to drink alone as an aperitif. Pairs perfectly with oysters.
