Meet this amazing red wine from Algarve, the southernmost wine region of Portugal, produced by Quinta da Tôr.
In the small village of Tôr, close to Loulé city and the Roman bridge, you can find this winery which has the privilege of being inserted in the naturality and simplicity of the mountains.
The property belonged to the same family from 1500 till 2011 when it was regenerated by the new owner family, not ignored the qualities of the land and built a new warehouse ( called ‘adega’ in Portuguese). The microclimate, the low winter and the high summer temperatures allow for the balanced maturation of the grapes on this land.
The winery’s mission is to diffuse the authentic Algarve flavors and traditions. Their brand image is wines with high alcohol levels, between 16 and 17 alcohol degrees, with their unexpected smoothness and complexity.
This single-varietal red wine was made from 100% of Touriga Nacional grape. The harvest was made manually in the vintage of 2017. Then fermentation in stainless steel vat with temperature control.
This wine has a 16% alcohol level.
Amazing, intense, very deep ruby color concentration in the glass.
Elegant floral fruit aromas on the nose, violet with plum and blueberries, black raisin and berry jam.
On the palate, strong, dynamic wine with perfect body and character. The fresh black fruit flavors are filling your mouth, mixed with massive tannins and a medium level of acidity. Persistent, drying and also a pleasantly burning finish.
Serve this wine at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
Pairing very well with red meats, steak or blue cheese.
Quinta da Tôr wines never let you down! I love this wine, and you should taste it too!
Cheers!
