Another pearl from the Algarve wine region of Portugal, produced by Quinta do Barranco Longo.
100% Chardonnay, fermented in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature. After chilling the grapes and skin maceration, pressing and decanting the must. Stage on fine lees.
In Southern Portugal, the dry and warm climate makes yielding precious acidic wine more challenging than it would be in the north. The winemaker, surrounded himself with a young and qualified team, made his Quinta a model vineyard in Algarve, where he combines traditional with technological, giving expression to his strategy of valuing details and constant improvement.
The wine presents a medium yellow color with a golden hue on its edge.
Rich white fruity and mineral aromas on the nose, with some floral notes. Yellow apple, white peach, pineapple and citrus blossom.
On the palate, good body and a crisp, mineral-driven texture, soft touches of fruit sweetness, and a fantastic balance between very attractive creaminess and fruits.
Deeply fresh, seductive and citric finish with a persistent dryness.
A very harmonious wine with 12,5% alcohol content.
Recommended consuming at 10-12 °C.
Goes very well with the local codfish, seafood dishes, oysters, oily sardines or lobster.
Algarve is not only a tourism paradise but also the birthplace of this beautiful Chardonnay.
Come here and taste it!
Cheers!
