Rovisco Pais Premium 2019, from Península de Setúbal

Rovisco Pais Premium red wine from the vintage of 2019, was produced by Cooperativa Agrícola Santo Isidro de Pegões, ont he Península de Setúbal wine region of Portugal.

This cooperative winery was founded in 1958 and today is a modern and competitive winery recognized both nationally and internationally, multi-awarded in the most renowned world wine competitions.

Located between two nature reserves, the Tagus Estuary to the northwest and the Sado to the southwest, the Serra da Arrábida to the west and the east of Barros Aalentejanos, its territory has privileged soil and climate conditions in the Península de Setúbal wine region of Portugal. The weather is the Mediterranean, and the terroir is influenced by the proximity of the Atlantic sea. The sandy, pozolitic soil is rich in water.

This red wine is a blend of the Aragonez, Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.

It presents attractive dark ruby color.

The aroma combines ripe red fruits, spices, chocolate and some vanilla.

The palate is soft and velvety, with an excellent structure. A medium-bodied wine with a good freshness. Good presence of tannins that are in a good balance with the nice acidity. The wood is very well integrated leaving notes of aging, vanilla and pepper. Persistent, dry finish with notes of tannin, smoky touch and slight spiciness at the end.

Alcohol content: 14.5%

Should consume this wine at 16-17 °C of temperature.

Goes well with steak, burgers or lamb meat.
