Open Red Clarete 2017, from Algarve

Open Red Clarete red wine, produced by Quinta do Barranco Longo, in the Algarve wine region of Portugal.

Barranco Longo with its cutting-edge equipment and qualified team is located in the heart of the Algarve. Its clay-limestone terroir and more than 3000 hours of sun per year help to ensure the exceptional quality of the grapes that result in fine quality wines, recognized around the globe.

This regional wine was made from selected and gently vinified grapes of Petit Verdot and Touriga Nacional varieties, in the vintage of 2017.

The grapes were refrigerated and destemmed. Then fermentation with light maceration in stainless steel press with controlled temperature. And after a soft press, the fermentation ends in stainless steel vats at a low temperature.

The wine presents a beautiful, pale, open red color, with a light brown hue.

On the nose, rich in aromas of forest fruits, strawberry, blackberries and raspberry, alongside some notes of sage, mint and wet slate.

On the palate, a fresh and light red wine, with not strong tannins. The nice mix of fruity flavors and harsh acidity persists also in a medium-long finish.

11,5% ABV.

It should be consumed at a temperature of 10-12 °C.

This wine is very versatile both in terms of meat, fish. Pairing well with codfish or tuna, lamb or veal, shrimp or any seafood.

Good to drink any time of the year!

This is a very unique wine with low alcohol and soft tannins from tannic grapes in a sunny wine region!

Must taste!

Cheers!
