Private Selection 2015 – a red wine from the Barranco Longo winery of Algarve, the southern wine region of Portugal.
Quinta do Barranco Longo is located in the heart of the Algarve. The clay-limestone soil and the constant sunshine during the year enhance the quality of the grapes and result in high-quality wines.
This Private Selection was made from the Aragonez and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, and as a 5-years-old red, it has a pale ruby color.
Primary aromas of dark chocolate and ripe red fruits, cherry and a hint of mulberry, with jam and earthy notes, on the nose. On the palate, delicate aromas of herbs and spices appear with a lot of minerality and fine tannins.
This is a very elegant, medium-bodied wine, with a slightly dry finish ending in medium acidity.
This well-balanced red has 13% alcohol content.
Pairing well with any kinds of meat dishes, from red ones to duck.
Unremarkable Algarve wine to drink any day of the year.
