Portonic – Taylor’s Chip Dry & Tonic
Taylor’s has introduced Taylor’s Chip Dry & Tonic, a white Port combined with tonic water plus a touch of lemon and mint, in a 250ml can, which was initial launches in the UK, US and Portugal.
Taylor’s, recognized for its pioneering spirit and permanent innovation, without ever compromising the exceptional quality of its Ports, has, over the years, sought to broaden the Port Wine consumer base, seeking to satisfy their needs. This has been the source of their company’s success since 1692. Taylor’s Chip Dry & Tonic is the culmination of two years of work alongside the Port Wine Institute, which will undoubtedly help bring more consumers to Port Wine.
Taylor’s was the first house to produce a dry white Port, this was the Taylor’s Chip Dry, which was launched in 1934 and has since gained a following worldwide. It has long been recognized as the best Port wine to make a refreshing and elegant aperitif, adding tonic water.
According to Taylor’s winemaker, this project was a challenge for the winemaking team to select the best ingredients to combine with Taylor’s Chip Dry, in order to ensure the best balance and the most pleasant and refreshing drink. The result is a delicious drink, full of character, which will surprise and delight even those who do not know this excellent Port wine.
The Chip Dry is made from selected dry white Ports produced from grapes grown in the Douro Superior. Although several white grape varieties are used, the Malvasia Fina grape predominates.
The wine presents a pale, straw color. Delicate nose combining fresh fruit fragrances with the mellow aromas and hints of oak of a traditional white Port. Fresh, lively palate, with good flavor and crisp, dry finish.
5,5% alcohol content.
Serve it chilled or with ice cubes.
It is perfect for enjoying at home or outdoors, in the countryside or on the beach. Excellent as an aperitif, or simply on a sunny afternoon.
