This Algibre Reserva is a red wine from Quinta da Tôr winery in the Algarve wine region of Portugal.
The winery is located in a small village, being inserted in the naturality and simplicity of the mountains. This unique nature and the microclimate (low temperature in winter and high in summer) allow for good and balanced maturation of the seven grapes that this vineyard has to offer.
Their brand image is wines with high alcohol levels (between 16-18 alcohol degrees) but with unexpected smoothness, complexity, and an explosion of flavors.
This wine is a blend of the Syrah, Touriga Nacional, and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. Manually harvested grapes in stainless steel vats, with temperature control. Aging for 17 months in new French oak barrels.
Aromas of black fruits on the nose, plum, black cherry, and dried fruits, with baking spices, cedar, chocolate, and a hint of smoke.
On the palate, intense flavors of fruits in a velvety texture. A full-bodied wine with a medium level of tannins and a persistent finish.
Pairing well with red and wild meats, or strong cheeses.
This wine was produced from the vintage in 2015, but the one from vintage 2014 was awarded a silver medal at the Algarve Wine Competition, in 2017.
And, not to forget to mention! The winery’s Grande Reserva Algibre red wine 2017 was the big winner of the XV Algarve Wine Contest this year, awarded the Great Gold Medal.
So, what are you waiting for? Come to the Algarve, visit Quinta da Tôr, and taste their amazing wines!
Let’s meet here! Cheers!
