The Aveleda Group has been owned by the Guedes family for 5 generations. Since its foundation in 1870, the passion for wine and the production of quality wines remain the company’s main guiding principles.
150 years ago, following the dream of the company’s founder, Manoel Pedro Guedes, Quinta da Aveleda produced its first white wine. This wine was immediately gaining quality recognition with a gold and silver medal, in Berlin and Paris. From this point on, Aveleda was created, with a distinct wine, of great quality, appreciated by many. Preserving its family character to this day, Aveleda has evolved over time. It is the largest producer and exporter of Vinho Verde in Portugal, exporting to over 70 countries around the world.
The wine is a product of 2020 vintage from the Alvarinho and Loureiro grape varieties.
The 2020 vintage was undoubtedly one of the most challenging in recent history. The Covid pandemic that began in 2019 continued to ravage 2020 with everything from picking, tastings and ultimately sales affected.
This white was produced exclusively from the best grapes of the Estate. The grapes are carefully pressed at low pressure, followed by alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperatures between 16 and 18ºC. After fermentation, the wine goes through aging in a stainless steel tank during which the fine lees in suspension are maintained. Before its bottling, the wine is filtered and cold stabilized.
The drink presents a medium, citrus-yellow color with a golden hue on the edge.
