This beautiful white wine is 100% from Sauvignon Blanc, produced by Quinta do Francês, in Algarve, the southernmost wine region of Portugal.
Patrick Agostini is a French doctor with family roots in Italy’s Piedmont region and traditions in wine-growing. He qualified in Oenology and Viticulture at Bordeaux. After a great deal of searching, he found the perfect place to get his project up and running in the valley of the Odelouca Stream. This became the Quinta do Francês winery.
The estate, covering nine hectares, boasts a modern winery where the wines called ‘Quinta do Francês’ and ‘Odelouca’ are produced, with a cellar for aging the wines in French oak barrels.
In recent years, the wines of this Quinta have been winning international wine competitions time and again.
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes were selectively handpicked and destemmed with a pre-fermentation cold maceration. Then alcoholic fermentation in French oak barrels and aged also in French oak barrels for 6 months.
The drink presents clear, medium yellow color with a golden hue.
Tropical and tree fruit aromas on the nose such as white peach, gooseberry, honeydew and passion fruit with strong herbaceous and floral notes of orange blossom and vanilla.
On the palate, dry, creamy and elegant wine. Very rich in the mouth, balanced, fresh and medium acidity. Rich fruity flavors in a beautiful, medium-long, dense finish.
13% alcohol volume.
Should be consumed at 8-10 °C.
