Quinta dos Távoras Reserva 2017.
A dry red wine from the Trás-os-Montes wine region, by the winemaker António Boal at the Costa Boal Family Estates, Lda, which is a young and familiar company producing wines and olive oils since 2010.
The Quinta dos Távoras Reserva 2017 was made from Vinhas Velhas grape, which were growing in schistous soil, in a 50 years old vineyard.
The drink has a medium ruby color.
Intense aromas of dark berries, blueberries, plum and blackberries, on the nose. On the palate, strong aromas of black fruits, jams and dark chocolate, accompanied by a hint of earthy and oaky notes.
Smooth, good structure with soft tannins that combined with moderate acidity, which makes it very easy to drink. These all in a very elegant and complex set despite its youth.
This is a balanced, medium-bodied wine with a medium aftertaste and 14% of alcohol content.
Winemaking (written by the producer): transport in 20 kg boxes, destemming with crushing, pre-fermentative maceration for 24 hours, inoculation followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats below 24ºC. Aging in French oak barrels where it remains for 8 months.
Pairing well with grilled and stewed red meat dishes, or cured cheeses.
Just enjoy!
Cheers!!
