KO – Vinhos de Uvas Passas, Quinta do Barranco Longo, Algarve.
The name of „Vinhos de Uvas Passas” means „Wine of raisins”.
And yes! This is a great, full-bodied sweet white wine with a beautiful amber color.
Here is an extraordinary wine from the Algarve region of Portugal, made from 3 grape varieties such as Muscat, Viognier and Chardonnay, at a local vineyard Quinta do Barranco Longo.
Wood, honey and apricot on the nose. A medium sweetness with fruitiness, fig and a hint of orange peel on the palate but with excellent acidity which reduces the sweetness of the wine, ensuring excellent durability and freshness.
Not a fortified wine but with 12% of alcohol level. Skin maceration and alcoholic fermentation with controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. Two-year aging in Hungarian oak barrels.
It goes well after desserts, to accompany both sweet foods or strong cheeses.
Believe me, this wine is perfect at the end of an excellent meal!
