Vinha das Mouras Reserva 2020, from Alentejo

Vinha das Mouras Reserva red wine from the Alentejo wine region of Portugal.

The producer is the Herdade das Mouras de Arraiolos, a family-owned winemaking project, based on quality, innovation, excellence, and size. The winery combines traditional techniques and modern production procedures and exclusively vinifies grapes grown in their vineyard.

This red wine is a blend of the Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, and Trincadeira grape varieties, growing on a brown-Mediterranean soil.

Pre-fermentation maceration at low temperature. Traditional fermentation of tanning in lagares, with controlled fermentation temperature at 28ºC. Aging in French and American oak for 6 months.

The wine presents a clear garnet color, with the presence of tears.

Aromas of ripe red fruits, cherry, and strawberry, on the nose, with spicy notes of licorice, mint, and intense woody aromas of vanilla, oak, and dark chocolate.

This Alentejo wine delivers a satisfying complexity despite its age. A tasty blend of Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira.

Smooth on the palate, with light flavors of red fruits and vanilla. Medium acidity and balanced, soft tannins, with woody notes.

It has a good structure and a persistent finish.

Alcohol content: 14%

An Alentejo blend that will please most palates. Good with lamb, codfish, Roquefort or Camembert cheeses. Also goes well with the Portuguese feijoada (beans with pork) and hams.
